Freezing temperatures in the Icebar
The Amsterdam Icebar is literally the coolest bar in the city. In the Icebar you'll experience a temperature of -10 degrees Celsius. Everything in the Icebar, from the furniture to the walls and the art, is made entirely out of ice.
The bar consists of two different parts: a ‘warm’ area in which you can have a cocktail or a large beer, and a cold area, the Icebar itself. Luckily, before you enter you’ll get a thermal coat and gloves to make sure you’re protected against the cold. We’ll also give you three free tokens which you can exchange for drinks to keep you warm. You can order beer, shots, and orange juice, all of which are served in glasses made out of ice!
The theme of the Icebar is very adventurous. The Dutch explorer Willem Barentsz will take you back in time to 1596, when he was stranded in te Arctic on an island called Nova Zembla for nearly a year. Are you brave enough to stand the cold?

When you’ve visited the Icebar and are looking for another great attraction to visit, the House of Bols is recommended. The House of Bols is an exciting attraction in Amsterdam centred around the world-famous Bols Jenever, better known as genever or Dutch gin. During the House of Bols experience, you will go on a self-guided tour to learn about the company’s history, taste a variety of samples and ingredients in the tasting hall and enjoy a fantastic cocktail in the Mirror Bar.
The self-guided tour will take you through the Hall of Taste where you can experiment with the special effects of smell, taste and colour. In the Ingredient Room, you will learn about the ingredients of authentic jenever. Your last destination on the tour is the Mirror Bar. The expert bartenders in this bar will prepare a delicious cocktail for you based on your personal taste. The House of Bols tickets also includes a visit to the Bols specialist store, where you can purchase some of their best spirits to take home.
